Lukas Ambros has left VfL Wolfsburg after four years to join Polish top-flight club Górnik Zabrze. The 20-year-old, who moved to the Wolves’ U17 youth team from Slavia Prague in 2020, made his Bundesliga debut for the Green-and-Whites in the 2022/23 season. The Czech midfielder was included in the Bundesliga squad a further eight times but did not add to his appearances.
Ambros played a total of 32 times for the VfL U19 side between 2021 and 2023 before spending last season on loan at SC Freiburg’s second team in the 3. Liga. A deal has now been agreed with Zabrze that leaves possibilities open for the future. “We wish Lukas all the best and will continue to follow his progress closely,” said VfL sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz.
