Her work at The Weather Channel won a number of awards, including the 2020 IAC Award for Best Environmental Online Campaign, the 2020 CMA award for Best Series of Articles, and the 2020 Digiday Award.
Simone has a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University, where she was awarded the John Horgan Award for critical science and health journalism at graduation.
Simone also received an MFA from Columbia University and a bachelor of science with honors in international relations from the London School of Economics.
