Operations Development Program (ODP)
Recent technology and productivity advancements have created exciting career paths in operations. And we are looking for recent college graduates with a strategic vision to guide people, projects, processes and systems to drive business results to join our ODP.
As an ODP participant, you will complete a 24-month experience with roles in supply chain, manufacturing and continuous improvement/quality to accelerate your leadership experience. You will gain knowledge in a variety of areas throughout the business while building an extensive internal network.
During this program, you will complete experiential, hands-on and classroom educational opportunities to accelerate your professional development. At the same time, you will be consistently collaborating with senior leaders, dealers, vendors and customers to gain a broad understanding of business needs. You will gain exposure to the unique culture we’ve built while growing skills that lead to success within your first years with Vermeer and throughout your career.
The goal of the program is to fine-tune your skills, apply your knowledge and further develop by:
- Building a foundation of competence within the Vermeer framework.
- Strengthening communication, interpersonal and leadership skills through hands-on experience.
- Solving problems and designing new and innovative solutions.
Upon completion of the program, you will be assigned an operations role aligned with your area of interest and your strengths as well as business needs.

Engineering Development Program (EDP)
With nearly 400 of our team members in engineering roles, Vermeer is about solving problems. We are looking for recent college graduates who thrive on tackling complex challenges fueled by a need to do things differently and better to join our EDP.
As an EDP participant you will immerse yourself in your new engineering role. You will work alongside seasoned professionals on initiatives that drive the business forward.
At the same time, you will complete an eight-week training experience that provides an overview of engineering and manufacturing processes at Vermeer. During the program, you will complete experiential, hands-on and classroom educational opportunities to accelerate your professional development.
You will gain exposure to the unique culture we’ve built while growing skills that lead to success within your first years with Vermeer. The relationships you develop with your fellow EDP cohorts become useful business contacts as well as valued friendships.
The goal of the program is to fine-tune your skills, apply your engineering knowledge and further develop by:
- Building a foundation of technical competence within the Vermeer framework.
- Strengthening communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Meaningfully contributing to engineering programs and innovations.

Marketing and Business Development Program (MBDP)
We value the skills and new perspectives that young professionals bring to Vermeer. And we are looking for recent college graduates who strive to make our business stronger and introduce us to new ways of working to join our MBDP.
As you immerse yourself in your new role, you will complete an eight-week training experience that provides an overview of processes at Vermeer. During this program, you will complete experiential, hands-on and classroom educational opportunities to accelerate your professional development.
You will gain exposure to the unique culture we’ve built while growing skills that lead to success within your first years at Vermeer. The relationships you develop with your fellow MBDP cohorts become useful business contacts as well as valued friendships.
The goal of the program is to fine-tune your skills, apply your knowledge and further develop by:
- Learning how your role and your team fit and thrive within the Vermeer framework.
- Strengthening communication, interpersonal and leadership skills through hands-on experience.
- Providing a meaningful contribution to our programs and innovations by learning while doing.
What?
Marketing and Business Development Program (MBDP)
Who?
Managers select recent college graduates who are new to the Vermeer team in sales, marketing and training.
When?
As needed, typically on an annual basis.
Where?
MBDP participants are based at our headquarters in Pella, Iowa, USA.
Why?
You have a desire to build connections with internal and external stakeholders to extend the important work you do.
