Rise Broadband overview
Rise Broadband offers fiber and fixed wireless service. The type of internet connection at your residence depends on where you live. Rise Broadband fiber internet plans are $35–$80/mo. for speeds between 250 Mbps and 1 GB with unlimited data. Rise Broadband fiber is similarly priced to other big-name internet providers like AT&T and Verizon Fios.
Rise Broadband fixed wireless internet is a great option for internet in rural areas. Fixed wireless uses radio towers and an antenna on your home to transmit Wi-Fi. With faster speeds than most satellite internet providers, this reliable internet service provider (ISP) is a good option for rural households that want to game and stream.

Methodology
We rated the largest internet providers in the U.S. for 2024. Each provider was rated on a scale of 1 to 5 based on over a dozen factors, including speed, cost, availability, fees, customer satisfaction, connection type and more. We also used data from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to compare the average speed offered by internet companies in the U.S. to set a baseline for what is considered a good internet speed. Additionally, we analyzed data from the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) to understand how each internet service provider (ISP) fares in customer service and perceived value.
How we reviewed Rise Broadband
Rise Broadband internet received a 3.1 out of 5. Rise Broadband’s strong points include low prices, no contracts and fiber speeds up to 1 GB. Rise Broadband reviews show that even its slower fixed wireless internet plans provide a valuable service by bringing the internet to rural areas across 16 states, including the Midwest and Great Plains regions of the U.S.
Rise Broadband has some limitations, including a small coverage area (less than 1% of the nation overall), and some additional fees for installation and equipment. Still, Rise Broadband internet is a strong competitor to larger ISPs like Xfinity, AT&T and Spectrum due to its prices, speed and customer service.
Rise Broadband internet plan reviews
Pros
Fiber speeds up to 1 GB.
Internet coverage for rural areas.
No contracts and unlimited data.
Cons
Limited fiber availability.
$15–$25/mo. router rental fee.
Prices may increase after two years.
Overall, Rise Broadband high-speed internet has decent speeds and affordable prices. However, the standard price after the promotional period is the current market price at that time. This ambiguity makes it hard to determine the rate after the two-year price guarantee.
Renting a router through Rise Broadband can add to your monthly internet bill, but you also have the option to provide your own router to avoid the fee. Learn more about the best Rise Broadband internet options in our plan breakdowns.
Rise Broadband Fiber 250 – Best for average internet use
Rise Broadband fiber internet plan is the cheapest plan offered by this ISP and has 250 Mbps upload and download speed, which is a good internet speed for nearly all online tasks. Choose this plan if you connect around 10 devices at once and need to do activities such as streaming videos or music, gaming or remote work. Installation is currently free with this plan (standard rate is $75), and the price is guaranteed for two years. Plus, data is unlimited.
Rise Broadband Fiber 1000 – Best for 20+ Wi-Fi devices
Rise Broadband Fiber is a good choice for the ultra-connected household with over 20 devices. Like the 250 Mbps plan, this 1 GB deal has a free installation promotion and also includes unlimited data. While not every home needs 1 GB speeds, it is worth the extra money if you have multiple people online at once or frequently do high-bandwidth activities, like real-time gaming.
Renting a Deco X21 router through Rise Broadband has an additional monthly fee, but depending on your location, there may be promotions for a free router with specific fiber plans. Otherwise, the typical cost is $15 for a router, $20 for a router and one Wi-Fi extender or $25 for a router and two Wi-Fi extenders.
Rise Broadband Fixed wireless 50 Mbps – Best for rural homes
Rise Broadband’s fixed wireless plans range from 25 to 100 Mbps. The reason the 50 Mbps plan is the best option is that it costs the same as the 25 Mbps plan in many areas. Like the fiber plans, this internet deal offers unlimited data and no contracts.
This plan also includes a free Deco M4 router, or you can upgrade to the Deco X21 router with Wi-Fi extenders for an additional fee. The main difference between the M4 and x21 routers (besides the extenders) is that the x21 model has OFDMA technology to assign bandwidth more efficiently across all devices in your home network to reduce latency.
Rise Broadband vs. other providers
Rise Broadband stacks up well against other best internet providers in the same coverage areas when it comes to price and speeds. You’ll find in the following table that Rise Broadband’s starting price is about $15/mo. less than its cheapest competitor and has average speeds compared to other ISPs in the same area.
Provider | Speed range | Starting price range* | Connection type |
---|---|---|---|
Rise Broadband | 25–1,000 Mbps | $35–$80/mo. | Fiber, fixed wireless |
AT&T Fiber | 300–4,700 Mbps | $55–$225/mo. | Fiber |
Spectrum | 100–1,000 Mbps | $49.99–$79.99/mo. | Cable |
T-Mobile 5G Home | 72–245 Mbps | $60/mo. | 5G |
