NCAA tournament preview: Xavier vs. Georgia State

No. 6 Xavier (22-13) vs. No. 14 Georgia State (25-9)

Time, TV: 6:10 p.m. ET, TNT

Where: Jacksonville

Why Xavier will win: When the Musketeers get to the Round of 32, they usually don't stop, advancing to the Sweet 16 on four of their last five trips. One reason is the program rarely strays far from its identity as a tough, physical team that plays inside-out. Xavier, the West's No. 6 seed, will have a big advantage in the post against the Panthers with 6-foot-10 center Matt Stainbrook, who went 8-for-10 from the field with nine rebounds against Ole Miss on Thursday.

Why Georgia State will win: The magic created by guard R.J. Hunter, who scored 12 of the Panthers' final 13 points in a 57-56 comeback victory against Baylor, should carry over for the No. 14 seeded Panthers. Hunter, who averages 19.6 ppg, started 1-for-8 on Thursday but got hot and should be more settled the second time around. So should guard Kevin Ware, who admitted to nervousness and went 2-for-8. Georgia State has nothing to lose and can match up well enough on the perimeter to steal another one.

History lesson: Georgia State reached the Round of 32 in 2001 after pulling an upset against No. 6 seed Wisconsin but saw its Sweet 16 dreams fade quickly with a 79-60 loss to Final Four-bound Maryland.
