EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Denzel Valentine had 25 points and Bryn Forbes scored a season-high 20 to help No. 3 Michigan State come back to beat No. 24 Louisville 71-67 on Wednesday night in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

The Spartans (8-0) trailed by 13 in the first half and took their first lead with 6:47 left.

Valentine later made a tiebreaking 3-pointer, set up Deyonta Davis for an alley-oop dunk and a connected on a shot in the lane to put Michigan State up 65-58 with 1:54 remaining.

Louisville pulled within two in the final minute, but Valentine made free throws to seal the victory.

Damion Lee finished with 23 points and Trey Lewis scored 21 points for the Cardinals (5-1) in their first game this season on an opponent's home court.

NO. 7 DUKE 94, INDIANA 74

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Freshman Brandon Ingram scored a season-best 24 points and No. 7 Duke beat Indiana 94-74 on Wednesday night in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

Amile Jefferson flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 11 rebounds, eight points and eight assists for the Blue Devils (7-1).

Matt Jones added a career-high 23 points with five 3-pointers and Grayson Allen had 16 points for Duke, which won its fifth straight by shooting 53 percent and holding Indiana without a field goal for the first 8 1/2 minutes of the second half.

Troy Williams scored 17 points, Yogi Ferrell had 15 and James Blackmon Jr. finished with 14 for the Hoosiers (5-3).

NO. 13 GONZAGA 69, WASHINGTON STATE 60

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Kyle Wiltjer scored 22 points and Gonzaga beat stubborn Washington State.

Josh Perkins added 16 points, and Silas Melson had 12 for Gonzaga (5-1).

Que Johnson scored 18 points for Washington State (4-1). Ike Iroegbu added 17.

Despite playing 150 times since 1907, this is the last scheduled meeting between schools 80 miles apart. Washington State wants to continue, but Gonzaga is looking to schedule other opponents.

WISCONSIN 66, NO. 14 SYRACUSE 58, OT

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Nigel Hayes had 15 points and 12 rebounds, converting a three-point play to break a tie in overtime, and Wisconsin beat Syracuse in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

Syracuse (6-1) beat Connecticut and Texas A&M last week to win the Battle 4 Atlantis and zoom into the national rankings this week after being an afterthought in the preseason. The Orange fell victim to a determined bunch that had been humbled over the weekend.

Wisconsin (5-3), improved to 1-1 against ranked teams and 63-60 overall against ranked teams under Bo Ryan. Ethan Happ Happ led the Badgers with 18 points and 15 rebounds.

Michael Gbinije led Syracuse with 19 points.

NO. 16 VANDERBILT 102, DETROIT 52

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Wade Baldwin IV led seven Commodores in double figures with 20 points, and Vanderbilt routed Detroit in a quick stop at home.

The Commodores (6-1) played their first game since finishing second to Kansas in the Maui Invitational last week, and they visit No. 25 Baylor on Sunday. This was the first time Vanderbilt has had six players in double figures since Nov. 11, 2008, against Central Arkansas, and the Commodores hadn't scored 100 since Feb. 12, 2012, in a 102-76 win at Mississippi.

Nolan Cressler scored 14 points, his most since transferring to Vanderbilt.

Anton Wilson led Detroit (2-3) with 14 points.

BUTLER 78, NO. 17 CINCINNATI 76

CINCINNATI (AP) — Kellen Dunham scored 24 points while leading a second-half comeback, and Roosevelt Jones hit a bank shot with a tenth of a second left, rallying Butler past Cincinnati.

The Bulldogs (5-1) trailed for most of the second half before Dunham hit consecutive 3s that set up a back-and-forth ending. His two free throws with 17.2 seconds left made it 76-73.

Cincinnati (7-1) had a chance when Octavius Ellis made a three-point play with 4.7 seconds left, but Jones drove through a crowd for the winning basket. He finished with 10 points as the Bulldogs won the first game between the schools since the 1997 NCAA Tournament.

Ellis had 16 points for Cincinnati, which blocked a season-high 10 shots and held a lead for most of the second half with its defense.

NO. 18 TEXAS A&M 75, FLORIDA GULF COAST 65

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — Jalen Jones scored 22 points to help Texas A&M beat Florida Gulf Coast.

Danuel House added 15 points for the Aggies (7-1). Texas A&M had only 10 turnovers to 21 for Florida Gulf Coast, and outscored the Eagles 21-5 on points off turnovers.

Christian Terrell led Florida Gulf Coast (4-4) with 14 points.

NO. 22 SMU 75, TCU 70

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Nic Moore scored 26 points and Sterling Brown made a tiebreaking scoop shot with 1:37 left to lift SMU over TCU.

Moore, the American Athletic Conference Player of the Year last season, had 19 points in the second half. He finished with five 3-pointers, four of them after the break.

Brown's shot broke a tie at 70. Markus Kennedy added 15 points for SMU (5-0).

Vladimir Brodziansky led the Horned Frogs (3-3) with 18 points. Malique Trent had 13 points and Chauncey Collins scored 12, all on 3-pointers.

NO. 23 PROVIDENCE 89, HARTFORD 66

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Kris Dunn had 16 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds for the second triple-double of his career, leading Providence past Hartford 89-66 Wednesday night.

Ben Bentil led the Friars (7-1) with 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting, and Jalen Lindsey added 15 points off the bench. Lindsey swished three 3-pointers in a row as part of an 18-0 run in the first half.

Jalen Ross led Hartford (3-5) with 21 points.

NO. 25 BAYLOR 80, PRAIRIE VIEW 41

WACO, Texas (AP) — Johnathan Motley scored a season-high 23 points, Rico Gathers had his 27th career double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds, and No. 25 Baylor routed Prairie View.

Bears point guard Lester Medford had nine assists, four steals and a block that kept Prairie View from getting an early lead and had a part in five consecutive field goals in a 14-0 run.

Terry Maston added 12 points for Baylor (5-1). Tevin Bellinger had 15 points for Prairie View (0-7).
