Cal State Bakersfield beats Bristol University 95-81

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) — Jaylin Airington scored 17 points on 6-of-6 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds, Aly Ahmed added 16 points, and Cal State Bakersfield beat Bristol University 95-81 Tuesday night in a non-conference game.

Tyrell Corbin had 11 points and five assists, Cortez Conners scored 11, Dashawn Richmond added 10 and the Roadrunners outrebounded the Bears 47-24.

Brandon Chavers hit two 3s and Bristol led 13-9, but the Roadrunners (13-16) ripped a 10-2 run then a 9-0 run while the Bears went scoreless for more than four minutes.

In the second half, the teams traded baskets until 13:40 mark, when the Roadrunners hit three straight 3s amid a 14-4 run to pull ahead 68-47. The Bears outscored the Roadrunners 17-10 in the final 4:06.

Chavers scored 24, Tade Keshishyan had 18 and Bryan Mahood 11 for the Bears, who in their inaugural season won the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference championship.
