Ibitayo, Akron roll past Bowling Green 67-50

AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Deji Ibitayo scored 15 points, Noah Robotham added 14 and Akron rolled past Bowling Green for a 67-50 victory on Wednesday night.

Pat Forsythe added 10 points with six rebounds for the Zips (11-5, 2-1 Mid-American), who shot 54.5 percent from the field and made eight 3-pointers. Ibitayo had 13 first-half points and Robotham scored 12 in the second. The win was Akron coach Keith Dambrot's 350th career victory.

Anthony Henderson led Bowling Green (10-4, 2-1) with 11 points, Richaun Holmes chipped in 10 and Zack Denny had eight with four steals. The Falcons were held to 20-of-61 shooting (32.8 percent).

Ibitayo converted a three-point play and drilled a pair of 3-pointers to ignite a 27-2 run that moved Akron out to a 36-13 lead in the first half. The Zips coasted in the second half, pushing their lead to 24 with 8:36 left after Ibitayo's layup.
