Fantasy owners melt down over David Johnson

Andrew Joseph

Cardinals running back David Johnson was the breakout star of the 2016 season and was easily the most sought-after player in every fantasy football draft. For the fantasy owners who drafted Johnson, that excitement quickly turned into misery.

Johnson injured his wrist in the Cardinals' Week 1 loss to the Lions, and the latest update from head coach Bruce Arians was worse than expected. According to Arians, Johnson has the same prognosis as injured running back T.J. Logan, who is out for 8 to 12 weeks.

Via azcentral sports:

Coach Bruce Arians confirmed the team's worst fears when he met with the media at the Cardinals' Tempe training facility, saying, "It's always a huge blow to lose a top player."

As bad as Cardinals fans took the news, Johnson's fantasy owners had their own meltdown on Monday.

But there is hope: These options could be solid fantasy replacements for the Cardinals running back.
