Pro golfer's wife opens up about husband's illness

Jeff Overton has only made one start on the PGA Tour this year - at the Honda Classic in February - and now, on his 33rd birthday, his wife Christina is shedding light on their private struggle.

In a note on her Twitter and Facebook pages, Christina told of a "life-threatening infection" that arose following Jeff's surgery on a herniated disk in his back. Things seem to be getting better for the Overton family, thankfully, but it's been a difficult time.

Needless to say, we'll be thinking of Jeff, Christina and their entire family as they continue their recovery.
