Suspect ID'd in 'My wife is a cheater' arson case

ARVADA, Colo. — A 31-year-old man is in custody accused of arson after firefighters found the words "My wife is a cheater" written on the outside of a home that caught fire early Tuesday morning.

The suspect, identified as William Lindauer, was arrested later Tuesday morning. In addition to first degree arson, he could face other charges, authorities said.

Arvada firefighters responded to the home in the 6800 block of Nelson Street around 1:30 a.m. MT after reports of an explosion.When they arrived, they saw flames shooting out of the house in addition to a message.

The words "My wife is a cheater" were written multiple times as well as a person's name that KUSA-TV chose not to reveal.

Firefighters said they found debris in the street from the home.

No one was injured inside the home during the blaze, and the case remains under investigation.
