Even Ferrari is caught by the air bag recalls

Ferrari is recalling cars like the 458 Spider over air bags

Add the vaunted Ferrari supercars to long list of cars under recall for problems with airbags.

Some 814 model-year 2015 Ferrari sports cars are now under recall for a driver-side airbag module that may have been improperly assembled, which could cause the airbag to deploy the wrong way in a crash and cause an injury, according to a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Ferrari told dealers not to sell the cars until they are fixed. They were all made from December to April.

Ferrari may be the toniest, but it is only the latest brand to be caught up in the recalls of cars over defective air bags. Some 33.8 million are under recall for defective air bags made by Japan's Takata, an automotive supplier. The maker of Ferrari's air bags was not named.

Models involved include the 458 Italia, 458 Spider, 458 Speciale, 458 Speciale A, California T, FF, F12 Berlinetta and LaFerrari.

Ferrari will fix the problem by replacing the front driver-side air bag.
