CW, 8 ET/PT

William Fichtner continues his guest-starring stint on CBS's 'Mom.'

When a time-traveling assassin plots to erase the Legends of Tomorrow by killing their younger, non-legends-of-yesterday versions, Rip tells the team to kidnap their past selves and hide them in a safe place. Those who are uninitiated in the rules of time travel may, indeed, be wondering how that could possibly work. (Wouldn’t the assassin have thousands of past versions to choose from, one for any day in the past he happens to choose?) But no doubt the show has an explanation.

Mom
CBS, 9 ET/PT

Yet again, Mom proves it's a sitcom unlike any other, with a serious and yet very comic episode about repentance, forgiveness and the compounded difficulty of fighting addiction when your loved ones don’t understand how hard the fight is. Somber, sexy and silly moments interweave, as Bonnie and her new boyfriend (William Fichtner, a great addition) battle over her need to attend meetings, while Christy battles to overcome her anger at Travis (Jesse Luken), the boy who was with Jodi when she overdosed.

Slowly, but thankfully surely, women are reclaiming their rightful place on the TV comedy landscape. You can see it in the powerhouse cast of Mom — and you can see it once again in the fourth-season return of one of the most buzzed-about shows on TV, Schumer.
