Undercover Boss
CBS, 8 ET/PT

CBS offers another journey to a world where high-level executives care so deeply and passionately about the well-being and happiness of their lower-level employees, they pretend to be one of them — sort of like visiting Lord of the Rings' The Shire with taller people. As fantasies go, it’s less compelling and far less believable than The Walking Dead or Game of Thrones, but it will at least leave you with more pleasant dreams.

TNT's 'The Librarians' was the best cable performer not involving pigskin and men in padding.

The Librarians
TNT, 8 ET/PT

As you might expect on this post-Christmas Sunday, original scripted pickings are slim. The best of a small bunch is probably TNT’s Librarians (another fantasy, if Boss’s twist on the genre doesn’t appeal), though if you’ve been following Flesh and Bones (Starz, 8 ET/PT), you’ll probably want to follow it through Sunday’s season finale. As for your other choices, choosing Agent X (TNT, 9 ET/PT) or The Royals (E!, 10 ET/PT) is possible, but not advised.

CSI
CBS, 9 ET/PT

Or you can go the rerun route, as CBS repeats the two-hour September finale of its long-running, incredibly influential hit, CSI. Many of the show’s present and past stars, including William Petersen, Marg Helgenberger, Eric Szmanda and Paul Guilfoyle, reunited for this goodbye, which provided a well-earned and basically happy sendoff to a show that launched the modern crime procedural and its network's ratings dominance.

Recent 'CSI' addition Ted Danson, right, joins with some original cast members in a scene from the CBS drama's series finale.
