Sunday TV: 'The Good Wife,' 'Drop Dead Diva'

'Drop Dead Diva,' starring Brooke Elliott, exits for the season on Sunday, but it will be back for a sixth go-round.

The Good Wife | CBS, Sunday, 9 ET/PT

This outstanding, incredibly entertaining series may not be able to top last week's game-changing instant classic, but odds are it will have fun trying. Richard Kind, Mamie Gummer and Edward Herrmann make return guest appearances, as the two firms battle over case files and hurt feelings.

Drop Dead Diva | Lifetime, Sunday, 9 ET/PT

This enjoyable Lifetime series — which almost died before Season 5 and has now been renewed for Season 6 — ends this year's run Sunday. The episode boasts a guest turn by Frasier's Peri Gilpin, who's coming off a great guest shot on Modern Family.

Masters of Sex | Showtime, Sunday, 10 ET/PT

If you've been on the fence about Masters, this beautifully done outing may be the one that makes you decide you're all in. As befits a show about the first true scientific efforts to understand female sexuality, women dominate this episode: Lizzy Caplan's Virginia Johnston, who is convinced that Freud's dismissive views of female sexuality are wrong; Julianne Nicholson's Dr. DePaul, who resents the ease with which Virginia moves in the medical world; and most movingly, Allison Janney's Margaret Scully, a seemingly happy wife who is forced to confront the truth of her marriage and her life. Between her stellar work on Masters and Mom, it's becoming ever more clear that there is very little a script can ask of Janney that she can't deliver.
