Charlie Sheen apologizes for gay slur
Arienne Thompson, USA TODAY
- He issued a quasi-apology to TMZ, who posted video of the incident.
Oh, Charlie Sheen, when will you learn?
The often-quoted star made a major misstep last Friday night when he uttered a homophobic slur (the F-bomb) while appearing at the grand opening of a bar in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
The trouble started when he addressed the crowd at the bar of the El Ganzo Hotel with this hair-raising introduction: "Lying bunch of (gay slur) (expletive)-holes, how we doing?"
Naturally, Sheen later issued a mea culpa (sort of) for the insulting comment, which he sent to TMZ, where video of the incident had originally been posted.
"I meant no ill will and intended to hurt no one and I apologize if I offended anyone," he said. "I meant to say maggot but I have a lisp."
