Bobbi Brown, Christian Louboutin star at FIT commencement

He looked like a Renaissance prince in his cap and gown. She looked like a librarian, but a beautifully made-up one.

Christian Louboutin, prince of red-soled shoe art, and Brown, the countess of cosmetic arts, now possess honorary degrees after lending a little of their stardust to commencement ceremonies at the Fashion Institute of Technology today.

As speakers, they were funny, charming and sweet with their advice to the grads, according to the tweeters who were there. But it sounds like they cribbed from the book of graduation speeches (surely there is one).

"Live your passion," he said. "Be more supple to yourself."

"When one door closes, look for a window," she said. "Just be nice, to yourself & to others. Really. It matters."

Still, reaction on Twitter was positive.
