The Karma, built by Fisker Automotive of Irvine, Calif., seats four and has an electric-only driving range of 50 miles. After that, a gasoline engine kicks in. Depending on how far motorists drive daily, the car could easily top 100 miles per gallon, Fisker says. The company says it has taken orders for 1,400 Karmas so far.
