Prince George Joins His Parents Kate Middleton and Prince William at Wimbledon

It's a very big day in tennis: Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios face off for the Wimbledon title. But in even bigger tennis news, 8-year-old Prince George made his first appearance at the famous grass court tournament. He joins countless members of the British royal family to attend Wimbledon over the years, including his mom Kate Middleton—a Wimbledon superfan.
Kate became royal patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club in 2016, yet, ever since she joined the royal family in 2011, she's been a regular at the summer tournament. In 2022 alone, it's the Duchess of Cambridge's third time at Wimbledon; she was in the crowds yesterday for the women's singles finals, and handed out the trophies at the end of the match, and watched the quarterfinals earlier in the week.

As the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George arrived at the All England Lawn Tennis Club for the championship match, Kate lovingly put an arm around her eldest son.
While Prince George is slightly blocked by the railing in this photo, here, they all waved to the gathered crowds as they entered the Club.
Prince William, Prince George, and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, arrived together in the royal box at Centre Court.
Kate's Wimbledon fashion game remained on point: She stuck to her polka dot theme of late, opting for a Alessandra Rich Chelsea Collar Dress in a blue polka dot pattern. (She wore a different Alessandra Rich polka dot dress to her first Wimbledon appearance this year.) She also re-wore white and black sling-back pumps by Rich.
Prince George sat in between his parents front and center in the royal box.
Prince George waved to the crowds; this is his first public appearance since the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend, when he was a constant presence by his parents' side.
Prince William seemed elated to be sitting next to his son at Wimbledon.
Kate leaned over to explain something to George. Here, her drop sapphire earrings and a sapphire necklace are visible.
Early into the match, both Kate and William put on their sunglasses. (The royal family loves a good pair of sunglasses!) Kate wore her Bvlgari 8170 cat eye sunglasses, which she also wore yesterday at Wimbledon.
Perhaps Prince George will take after his mom's famous courtside faces.

The Duchess of Cambridge loves a good tennis match.
Other celebrities were also in attendance, including Tom Cruise. The Cambridges recently attended a screening of Cruise's film Top Gun: Maverick.
Also in the crowd were Andrew Garfield, Vito Schnabel, and Tom Hiddleston (standing), and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (sitting, in the white tank top).
Actor Matt Smith, who portrayed Prince Philip in The Crown, was also spotted in the stands of Centre Court.
Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Prince George weren't the only members of the royal family at Wimbledon today, either. Lady Gabriella Windsor, the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, was also in the crowd with her husband Thomas Kingston.

Like at the women's championship, Kate handed out the trophies. Here, she gave the winner's trophy to Novak Djokovic. Djokovic defeated Kyrgios in four sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6(3).
She also handed the runner up trophy to Australia's Nick Kyrgios.
As Kate handed out the trophies, her husband and son looked proudly on from the royal box.
