No one has ruled the UFC like the Dagestani fighters. From Khabib Nurmagomedov to his cousin Umar Nurmagomedov, everyone has been a dominant figure inside the octagon. Notably, Islam Makhachev has also been a major force, effortlessly outclassing nearly everyone he’s faced except for one loss. He doesn’t hesitate to take on anyone, but recently, he raised his eyebrows when asked about Khabib’s potential return, brushing it off and expressing genuine concern about what that might mean for him.
Every six months or so, there’s always chatter about “The Eagle” making a comeback, as he still has a lot to offer and is the same age as Alex Pereira. Recently, when Makhachev was asked if he’s ever tried to convince Khabib to return to MMA, given their close relationship, it sparked even more curiosity among fans. In a typically hilarious Makhachev fashion, he responded that he never has and never would try to convince Khabib to come back, joking that he doesn’t want to add any extra competition in the UFC.
He stated, “No! Why do I need this? There’s no need for extra competition.”
When it comes to Khabib’s return, he has made it clear that he won’t be back. It’s been four years since he retired to honor a promise to his mother. And there is no doubt if he was going to return, he would have already done so, particularly given the massive payday Dana White offered him.
Khabib Nurmagoemdov Says Fans Won’t Even Miss Him Thanks To Islam Makhachev, Umar and Other
A recent video shows Khabib responding to questions about the potential for his return to the octagon. He made it clear that there’s no chance he’ll come back. However, he promised fans they won’t miss him, as his team is busy creating champions one after another. Adding to this, he said he is supporting his brothers—Islam Makhachev, Umar, Usman, and others—as they continue to dominate the scene.
He stated, “I’m helping my brothers to become champions…You guys never gonna miss me because in our team we create champions. You guys gonna always have a champion. So don’t worry about this.“

There’s no doubt that Team Khabib has been on the rise. Not only has Islam become a champion, but Belal Muhammad, who recently came to train with them, has also claimed a title. Now, Khabib’s goal is to make Umar the bantamweight champion, following the plan his father had laid out, and he’s making good progress toward that aim.
