It's not exactly ironic, but it definitely is adorable.
Alanis Morissette performed her classic song “Ironic” with her daughter, Onyx, 8, during her concert in Nashville on June 23 as part of her child's birthday celebrations.
"birthday angel girl moment 💫✨ singing ironic together 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🎂🥹🥹🥹🥹 i love you so much onyx you are my dream daughter ❤️❤️," the singer captioned a photo of the moment, while also using the hashtags #8, #happybirthday, #nashville and #i❤️younashville.
The clip, which was shared by fans on social media, begins early in the song.
"It’s a black fly in your chardonnay /It’s a death row pardon two minutes too late," Onyx sings, as she takes the lead, with her mom helping out.
Onyx really hits her stride in the chorus.
"It’s like rain on your wedding day /It’s a free ride when you’ve already paid /It’s the good advice that you just didn’t take /And who would’ve thought — it figures," she enthusiastically belts out.
She continues to sing, while her mom stands next to her and sings along with her, as does the crowd.
When she wraps up, Onyx beams and waves at the crowd, while her mother takes her microphone while sporting a grin of her own. The pair then hug as the crowd roars.
Morissette and her husband, Mario “Souleye” Treadway, are also parents to two sons, Ever, 13, and Winter, 4.
"My heart," Treadway wrote in the comments of his wife's post. Fans who said they were on hand at the concert loved Onyx's performance.
