In November 2016, McLaughlin-Levrone signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Kentucky. There, she competed for their track and field program. Additionally, she broke the collegiate record in the 400 meters hurdles, running 52.75 seconds at her first SEC championship appearance in May 2018.
