College

In November 2016, McLaughlin-Levrone signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Kentucky. There, she competed for their track and field program. During this time, she also set the world junior 400-meter record of 50.36 seconds at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships in March 2018. Additionally, she broke the collegiate record in the 400 meters hurdles, running 52.75 seconds at her first SEC championship appearance in May 2018. After one year at Kentucky, McLaughlin-Levrone turned professional in June 2018. She forfeited her remaining college eligibility, and subsequently signed a sponsorship deal with New Balance.
