Kevin O’Connor meets tile installer Gary Moreland in the downstairs bathroom, where Gary walks him through the process of waterproofing the entire space using floor and wall tiles. Together, they complete the tiling for the new curbless shower using the envelope method.
Later, Kevin catches up with wood flooring installer Bill Verone, who’s just begun working on the kitchen floor. Bill explains the benefits of using adhesive as an additional moisture barrier during the installation process. Kevin lends a hand as they cut, prep, and install four more rows of wood flooring.
Upstairs Zack Dettmore and Charlie Marshall stay in theme with the modern feel of the new primary bedroom by using the same red oak flooring on one of the walls—even adding a hidden door to the bathroom with concealed hinges. Having done this before, Charlie leads the process of installing the hinges to the door and installing it flush with the wall.
Outside, with the help of the homeowner’s daughter Genevieve, Jenn Nawada and Mark McCullough install a large boulder that they brought from Boston to be used as a new water fountain.
