ENGLAND fans have gone wild after the Three Lions WON their penalty shootout against Switzerland - and will now move on to the Euros semi-finals.

Trent Alexander-Arnold hit the final penalty to send England through after the game ended 1-1 with extra time unable to separate the sides.

England scored every penalty in a dream shootout - with Pickford saving Swiss defender Akanji's strike.

The Three Lions will now play Turkey or Holland in the semi-final on Wednesday.

Breel Embolo had scored first for Switzerland after a ball into the box took a deflection off John Stones and was nudged into the net.

But England soon equalised after Bukayo Saka cut inside from the right flank and curled one into the bottom corner.

Former Lionesses star Izzy Christiansen summed up the mood on 5 Live.

Christiansen said: "Wow is all I can say. These fans have gone absolutely wild.

"Some of these fans have stood on the top of the tier. Sweet Caroline is on.

"Pickford made a save in the shootout and England are going through."

England had largely looked more positive than in previous matches as Southgate switched to a back three.

But they went behind midway through the second half of a close-fought contest, when Embolo bundled home Ruben Vargas' cross.

Yet England were behind for just five minutes as best player on the night Bukayo Saka cut in from the right and saw his long-range effort fly into the far bottom corner.

That's how it remained until the end of a nerve-jangling extra time, before the two sides faced off in a penalty shoot-out.

And Trent Alexander-Arnold converted the winning spot kick to send England marching into the semi-finals.
