Hattiers Rum expands UK distribution
English B Corp-certified rum brand Hattiers has secured UK-wide listings with supermarket Tesco and wholesalers Booker.
The new listings mark a milestone for the Devon-based premium rum brand, showcasing major retailers’ growing recognition of sustainable British-made products.
The listings are said to make Hattiers ‘front-row and centre’ for UK consumers, giving them easier access to the brand’s portfolio of blended aged rums. Furthermore, the move looks to underscore a broader industry shift as major retailers champion ‘innovative, values-driven British brands’.
Hattiers emphasises ‘sustainability, quality, and heritage’ with its position in the spirits industry as a B Corp English rum.
Philip Everett-Lyons, founder and CEO of Hattiers Rum, commented: “This is a huge moment for Hattiers Rum. Securing these listings with Tesco and Booker marketplaces is a testament to our team’s dedication and the growing appetite for sustainable, high-quality British rum.
“While this achievement is momentous, it’s only the tip of the iceberg for what’s coming as we continue to expand our reach and introduce more consumers to the world of Hattiers Rum.”
As the demand for ethical and sustainable products grows, Hattiers noted that Tesco and Booker’s decision to feature its rum reflects their commitment to offering consumers brands that align with their values.
In addition, the partnership is described as a win for the environment, the British economy, and rum enthusiasts nationwide, highlighting the importance of responsible business practices in today’s marketplace.
The rum brand was founded in 2017, when it set out to ‘redefine premium rum with transparency, quality, and purpose’.
Earlier this year, the brand announced it is seeking to raise more than £1 million (US$1.3m) in funding to accelerate its global expansion.
This month, Hattiers announced the appointment of Richard Shirman as sales director.
