Shalabhasana or the locust pose is the perfect asana for those suffering from lower back pain and indigestion. Not only does this asana help tone the muscles of the thighs, upper thighs and buttocks, but it also strengthens the muscles of the lower back. This asana also extends the spine, and makes you more flexible. Apart from that the shalabhasana, helps massage the organs of the entire stomach and abdomen correcting any problems with your digestion, bowel movements and metabolism. Shalabhasana also helps bring the endocrine system into balance making sure that all your hormones are released in the right amounts, in turn keeping your entire body healthy.
