To celebrate the Ad Club of New York's 120th anniversary, The Drum is inviting readers to share their favorite marketing moments from the past 120 years.
Estée Lauder pink ribbon
Today’s marketing moment was chosen by Karin Drakenberg, co-founder and COO at StrawberryFrog. Below, find out why the pink ribbon campaign for breast cancer, which was created by Estée Lauder executive Evelyn Lauder in 1992, is her favorite marketing moment.
For me it is every time I see the pink ribbon - it's an example of a extraordinary international cultural movement.
It is is a global movement against breast cancer and for change that touches many people, and many families.
It has become a symbol of breast cancer awareness. Pink ribbons, and the color pink in general, identify the wearer or promoter with the breast cancer brand and express moral support for women with breast cancer here in the US but now globally.
