Those Savvy Millennials

Despite some economic barriers, people in their 20s and early 30s are actually fairly ready for the challenges of adulthood.

Millenials, roughly defined as the generation of Americans born between 1980 and 2000, are set to overtake the Baby Boomers in population this year. Much has been made of how the tenuous outlook for today’s young adults—who entered the workforce just as the economy came crashing down—will reshape the country’s financial future. But though they’ll have to play catch-up on many fronts, they may be more ready for the challenge than they’re given credit for.
