So far, the Paris Olympics is shaping up to be quite the star-studded event: Prince Albert of Monaco (who himself competed in five Winter Olympics, between 1988 and 2002) has been spotted watching the women's gymnastics, and the newly married Ambanis jetted in for the Opening Ceremony. The Dutch and Spanish royals have also been seen attending a number of events, as has Princess Anne, who nipped over to Paris to hand out medals and soak up the action.

The latest big names to arrive in the French capital, however, are the Luxembourg royals – with the newest member of the family making her public debut at the Games.

Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg, the only daughter of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, was spied cheering on team Luxembourg with her husband, Nicolas Bagory. With them was the couple's baby daughter, Victoire, who was born just two months ago.

She joined her parents in a baby carrier, in which she was shaded from the sun by a white muslin. Alexandra nailed effortless new-mother style in her striped top, denim jacket and baseball cap, while Nicolas donned a relaxed, blue tee shirt.

It's not often we've seen the royals in such dressed-down mode. In April last year, Alexandra wed Nicolas, a graduate of the Sorbonne University, in a civil ceremony at the Town Hall of the City of Luxembourg, for which she wore a Valentino cape and Maison Natan blouse and trousers, while carrying a white Chanel handbag. A week later, the pair celebrated their religious wedding at the Saint Trophyme church in Bormes-les-Mimosas, with the princess wearing custom Ellie Saab, teamed with the Luxembourg Chaumet Choker Tiara.

A keen linguist, Alexandra is fluent in Luxembourgish, French, English, Spanish – and she speaks some German and Italian. She used to work as a journalist in the Middle East and had an internship at the Security Council of the United Nations in New York. She is also said to be a a keen sportswoman, and enjoys tennis, skiing, dancing and gymnastics: no doubt she has been looking forward to the Olympics, the most significant sporting event of the year.

The family has not yet released any images of Victoire, making this the first time she has been seen by the public since her birth was announced on 14 May. Ninth in line to the Luxembourgish throne and the Grand Duke and Duchess' eighth grandchild, she will have felt right at home during her first public engagement – she was born in Paris, after all.

Princess Alexandra has been joined by several other Luxembourg royals at the Games. The Grand Duke and Duchess attended the opening of India House (helmed by this season's most in-demand mover and shaker, Nita Ambani) and took in a spot of skateboarding, while Prince Sebastian went to watch the men's rugby. The whole family has also been taken on a tour of the Olympic Village by the Luxembourg Olympic and Sporting Committee president, André Hoffmann, and Team Luxembourg's head of mission, Ramond Conzemius.

With the Games set to continue until 11 August, no doubt there will be more chances to spot royals cheering on their national teams from the stands. Might avid sports fan (and former Olympian) Zara Tindall make an appearance? Or perhaps Prince William, who is known to enjoy football, and attended several Euros games? Only time will tell – but just in case, we'd certainly recommend keeping an eye on the spectators, as well as the athletes…
