They have been dating for almost a year, so it's no surprise that Peter Phillips wanted his girlfriend Lindsay Wallace by his side during this weekend's marathon series of royal events, in honour of his grandmother the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
The couple attended both the Epsom Derby and the Platinum Pageant together, with the appearances marking the first time that the royal and his girlfriend have attended an official event together. Peter's mother, Princess Anne, led proceedings at the Derby, representing Her Majesty The Queen who regrettably could not attend. Instead, it is believed she made the short trip from her home in Windsor to Frogmore Cottage, to see her namesake great-granddaughter Lilibet on her first birthday. Meanwhile the couple had second row seats at the Pageant, just behind the Prince of Wales and Princess Anne.
44-year-old Peter divorced his wife, Autumn, last year, after 13 years of marriage. The couple have two children together, 11-year-old Savannah and 10-year-old Isla, and reportedly remain on good terms. Throughout the Pageant, the two girls could be seen talking to their cousins, Mia and Lena Tindall, as well as Princess Charlotte.
The royal introduced his new girlfriend, who is the daughter of an oil tycoon, to his grandmother earlier this year, following a shooting party at Windsor. She is also understood to have attended the double christening of Phillips's nephew, Lucas Tindall, and his second cousin, August Brooksbank, last November. A spokesman for Peter confirmed that Lindsay, 40, had accompanied him to the joint christening of Lucas Tindall and August Brooksbank in Windsor.
The couple first met via Peter's sister Zara, who went to school with Lindsay at Gordonstoun. According to the Daily Mail, Lindsay became close to Peter after spending time with him following the breakdown of their marriages. She also has two children from a previous relationship, a subject they can no doubt bond over.
