There is an orientation event, which is an informal meeting where new international students can meet in a relaxed environment. It is also an opportunity to ask university support staff any questions which may have arisen during enrolment.

The Students’ Union also organises a number of day trips for international students, offering them the chance to see more of the UK during their time studying. This is in conjunction with numerous international societies at the University. The International Study Centre (ISC) offers degree preparation courses for international students, which last up to one year before and during a degree. Pre-sessional English courses are also offered for students who want or need to improve their English score before starting a course.
