A masked man stormed into a McDonald’s restaurant brandishing a knife and threatened staff before making off with vouchers from the chain’s Monopoly game, police said.
The man, hooded and with his face covered, was caught on camera striding up to the counter with a knife concealed by his side.
As he walked behind the counter to grab the monopoly cards and vouchers, one fast food worker attempted to stop him, Scotland Yard said.
But footage shows him menacingly threatening staff behind the counter with a knife before running out of the shop.
Police said the robbery took place at the Coldharbour Lane McDonald's in Hayes on the afternoon of March 23.
“At 2pm the suspect walked into McDonalds. Waving a knife at staff, he removed the movable counter separating the customers from the kitchen, grabbed a box of promotional Monopoly cards and vouchers and left the restaurant with the box,” police said.
“The suspect is described as a black man, dressed in a dark and grey two tone hooded top, white gloves, black trousers and black shoes.”
Detective Constable Emma Brookes said: "Although he had his face covered, it is possible that someone may recognise his clothing, or may have heard someone talking about this robbery."
The promotional cards stolen are part of the chain’s Monopoly game, in which buyers can collect stickers in order to win prizes.
Up for grabs are Mini Coopers and up to £100,000 in cash.
