Indian international cricketer Yashasvi Bhupendra Kumar Jaiswal was born on December 28, 2001 and he is the fresh and upcoming young player of the modern Indian cricket team. In July 2023, he played his first Test match as an international player against the West Indies, going on to score a century in his opening innings. Yashasvi Bhupendra Kumar Jaiswal is an Indian international cricketer who plays for the Indian cricket team. In July 2023, he made his debut for India against the West Indies in the opening Test match, where he scored a century in his opening innings. The then 17-year-old was the third to achieve the feat but it was his temperament and immense talent that caught the eye. Jaiswal finished with 564 runs from six innings which included 25 sixes and 49 boundaries at an average of over 112.

Consistent performances helped the left-handed opener earn the big bucks when the Rajasthan Royals purchased him for INR 2.4 crore in last December’s player auction. Now that Ajinkya Rahane has been traded to the Delhi Capitals, Jaiswal can stake his claim for the opener’s role. And, a good stint at IPL 2020 can indeed help him make his way into the India A squad and beyond.

Despite missing the opening game of the next season, he scored over 200 runs with a fifty against the Chennai Super Kings, who went on to win the title. RR was unable to make it to the playoffs in spite of this.

For Jaiswal in particular, the 2022 season was very different. After only scoring 25 runs in the first three games, he was benched for the following six. In the following encounter with the Delhi Capitals, he scored 19 runs. In the next game, he scored 41 runs against the Lucknow Super Giants, leading RR in scoring. In the following game, he scored his first fifty, also against CSK. RR fared exceptionally well that season, finishing second in the league. They made it to the playoffs, but the Gujarat Titans comfortably defeated them, and they were immediately knocked off.

Jaiswal himself was not brilliant, just scoring 3 runs. When RR played Royal Challengers Bangalore, they were put to the test once more, as Jaiswal managed just 21 runs. Jos Buttler did, however, produce an incredible century, and RR won the game easily by seven wickets. The whole RR batting order collapsed in the final vs GT, managing just 130 runs, with Jaiswal scoring 22.

Jaiswal's immaculate 104 in the 2024 season helped RR defeat the Mumbai Indians. In the end, RR qualified for the playoffs; however, they were defeated by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the semifinals.

On October 2, 2021, he scored his first T20 half-century against Chennai Super Kings, which was at the time the second-fastest in franchise history. On April 30 2023, he scored his first T20 century against Mumbai Indians, scoring 124 from 62 balls, which was the second-highest score in an IPL match at Wankhede Stadium. In an IPL match against the Kolkata Knight Riders on May 11, 2023, he achieved the fastest half-century in the history of the league in just 13 balls, breaking the previous mark jointly held by Pat Cummins and KL Rahul. In 2020, he made his IPL debut. In his 52 IPL games played so far, Yashasvi Jaiswal has scored 1,607 runs at an average of 32.14. He was the fourth of six children born to Bhupendra Jaiswal, a hardware shop owner, and Kanchan Jaiswal, a homemaker. Yashasvi used to attend school, and then practise cricket alone. Due to his tight schedule, he did not have any energy left at the end of the day, and he used to sleep when he was supposed to work. As a result, he was thrown out of the dairy as he only used to sleep.

It was after his admission to the club that he started to play regular cricket. He used to stay in the gardeners’ tent in the ground and sell fruits and pani-puri in the evening to make ends meet. He would often go out to lunch with his friends at the cricket club and would ask them to bear the expenses for him.

Once, while he was practising in the nets, the local coach, Jwala Singh, spotted him. Yashasvi soon moved to Singh’s place, who took care of him, provided him with everything, and trained him every day. He also encouraged Yashasvi to take part in competitions.
