Sunday capped off a wild week in Piraeus, Greece, where six teams entered the Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) but only one advanced to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris: Giannis Antetokounmpo and host nation Greece.

Ivica Zubac and Croatia put up a tremendous effort — and even held a modest early lead — but Greece ended up leading steadily for most of the game and ultimately came away with the 80-69 victory. An emotional Antetokounmpo fought tears after the game, proud to bring his nation back to the Olympics for the first time since 2016.

Giannis and company now join the winners of the Latvia, Spain, and Puerto Rico tournaments — Brazil, Spain, and Puerto Rico — as the remaining four squads in the 2024 Olympic Tournament.

Eight hoops teams have already qualified for the Paris games, most notably the United States and Canada. Greece will play in a very impressive group that includes Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's Canadian squad.

Nobody much doubted the Greeks' ability to advance to the Final and get into the Olympics. They were listed on most sportsbooks as short as -340 to beat Luka Doncic and Slovenia on Saturday and went into this game against Croatia as heavy moneyline favorites.
