ELEMENTARY AT THE LIBRARY

For kindergarten and beyond, the Library has the resources available to support kids in anything they set their minds to – in academic success, learning just for the fun of it, and pure entertainment.

If you are a Spokane Public Schools student, your student ID number doubles as a library card for access to all kinds of materials to help you grow and learn. Whether you want to check out a book or get some extra help with your homework, we’ve got you covered. 

STEAM RESOURCES

Check out science equipment from the Library of Things, attend free STEAM programs, or get free tutoring help online in Science and Math. We have the STEAM resources you need to get ahead. 

LIBRARY OF THINGS

Ozobots, anyone? Check out a wide variety of non-traditional library items from the Library of Things including musical instruments, garden equipment, craft supplies, and more. We also have free museum passes to Mobius Discovery Center and the NW Museum of Arts and Culture. 

MUSIC LESSONS

Learn the basics of music theory with free music lessons from our Music Education Specialist, Andy Rumsey for ages 10+. No instrument? No problem. We’ll hook you up with one from the Library of Things. We offer lessons in guitar, bass, drums, piano, and ukulele.

CHILDREN'S PLAYSPACES

Connect with your child at one of our play-and-learn spaces. Six custom children’s playspaces are located throughout the system, guaranteed to delight. Playspaces in libraries are associated with increases in caregiver and child conversation and interaction known to support language, literacy, and STEM skills.
