According to an interview aired by Apple Music from his LA studio, the hit-maker really enjoyed spending time in Nashville and working with country artists. "I cannot wait to go and write more songs and get the band out and just keep creating," Malone says. "I'm so excited. I've gotta keep writing in Nashville." Malone's genre-bending music has explored hip hop, pop, and rock over the years, sometimes simultaneously. But the "I Had Some Help" singer spent his formative years in Texas, and "always wanted to make a record like this." You can check out the whole interview here. Malone even tweeted in 2015: "WHEN I TURN 30 IM BECOMING A COUNTRY/FOLK SINGER." Beating his prediction by one year, the 29-year-old says he's really happy and has built a lot of new friendships in Nashville. He's also the father of a 2-year-old now, and appreciates the easier pace of working in the Music City. "I'm taking it easy. I'm slowing it down," Malone explains. "It's really nice meeting people in Nashville that made me feel so welcome." They certainly did put out the welcome mat: Malone's new album features about every country star imaginable, with guest artist like Dolly Parton, Blake Shelton, Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton, and Jelly Roll. And he's already had a debut performance at the Grand Ole Opry with some of his new friends in Nashville. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why! Other Submit
