• Let us consider what the Bible, God’s Word, says about “The Fear of
The Lord”.
• What does it mean to Fear the Lord?
• Is it something that the Lord requires of His people?
• Are there examples in God’s Word of those who Fear Him or don’t
Fear Him?
• Are there consequences that result if people Fear the Lord or don’t
Fear Him.?

• Prov 14:2 He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD: but
he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him. KJV

understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise

• Ps 145:17-20 17 The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his

• Rom 13:1-5 1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there
is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
• 2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of
God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
• 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then
not be afraid (#5399-phobeo) of the power? do that which is good, and
thou shalt have praise of the same:
• 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which
is evil, be afraid (#5399-phobeo) ; for he beareth not the sword in vain:
for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that
doeth evil.

• So, we have the following situation in the USA and the World:
• 60,069,971 Abortions in America since Roe v. Wade in 1973
• 1,549,504,406 Abortions in the World since 1980
• According to United Nations Office Of Drug Control,, there were an
estimated 437,000 people murdered in the world in 2017
• In 2010, there were 40,974 murders in Brazil
• In 2009, there were 40,752 murders in India
• In 2017, there were 25,339 murders in Mexico.
• In 2015, the estimated number of murders in the USA was 15,696.

• Based on what we have learned from what the bible says, why have
people done these things? Let us notice again.
• Rom 3:14-18 …. 15 Their feet are swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction
and misery are in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they
not known: there is no fear (#5401-phobeo) of God before their
eyes.
• Ps 36:1-3 The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart,
that there is no fear (#6343-pachad) of God before his eyes. 2 For he
flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be
hateful. 3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath
left off to be wise, and to do good. KJV

Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body,
according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 11

Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will

• 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without
blemish and without spot:
• 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world,

no more. 18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering
for sin. 19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest

• So, do you fear the Lord, now that you have learned what He did for you?
What will you do? Will you obey Him? He says the following per:
• John 8:24 - …if ye believe not that I am….
• Luke 13:3 - …except ye repent…..
• Luke 12:8 - …Whosoever shall confess Me…
• Mark 16:16 - ..He that believeth and is baptized….
• John 8:31 - ..If ye continue in my word …
• Phil 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my
presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own
salvation with fear and trembling. KJV
