Eagle-Eyed Fans Believe Sasha Obama Just Followed in Her Sister Malia’s Hollywood Footsteps

Ever since former US President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama’s eldest daughter Malia Obama entered the Hollywood scene, she’s been making a name for herself. She wrote and directed her debut short film called The Heart, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival’s Short Film Program in 2024. Along with that, Malia was a staff writer on the hit show Swarm; all with the stage name “Malia Ann.”

Now, what has her younger sister Sasha Obama been up to? Last year, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Sociology. She’s kept a much lower profile than her sister, but has been seen out and about with her.

However, eagle-eyed fans at The Cut believe Sasha is actually following in her big sister’s footsteps; and is entering Hollywood.

News writer for The Cut Olivia Craighead recently published a piece, theorizing that Sasha was a part of the latest season of the hit show Couples Therapy, which is a Showtime show that depicts the lives of different couples per season via therapy sessions.

Now, in the latest season, the name “Natasha Obama” was credited as a casting interviewer for the show. And this familiar name led many to believe that Sasha is using her legal name, and is working on the TV show scene as well.

Both Malia and Sasha are rather low-key and rarely show up in the public eye. Despite this, it seems as though both Obama daughters may want to work behind the scenes in Hollywood.
