Build a 101 list. These get Dugg all the time and become "authority documents". People can not resist linking to these (hint, hint).

Create extensive resource lists for a topic .

Create a list of the top 10 myths for a category.

Create a list of gurus or experts. If you impress the people listed well enough, or find a way to make your project look somewhat official, the gurus may end up linking to your site or saying thanks.

Make your content easy to understand so many people can understand and spread your message.

Some effort in to minimize spelling or grammatical errors especially if you need authoritative people like librarians to link to your site.

Have an easily accessible privacy policy and about section so your site seems more trustworthy. Including a picture of yourself may also help build your authority.
