The Future of Higher Ed is Integrated, Innovative, and Connected
Published February 9, 2024By Jennifer Adams Peffer, SCUP Board Chair and Mike Moss, SCUP PresidentTags: SCUP BusinessSCUP is evolving to grow the reach and impact of integrated planning in higher education. Will you join us?
After year-long efforts that included scanning, research, and feedback from 1,000+ community members, we’re delighted to announce the launch of YOUR new, co-created, Strategic Plan with a mission, vision, and values that will guide SCUP to lead with impact.
Our Mission
SCUP is a learning-centric association that fosters an inclusive community of practice in integrated planning to advance colleges and universities. Our mission focuses on building resilience and capacity in higher education through integrated planning. Our approach to integrated planning provides a foundation for sustainable planning teams and culture. We want to empower educators, planners, and leaders with practices that break down silos, cultivate alignment, and create connections across disciplines.
Our Vision
As thought leaders and agents of change, we empower higher education professionals in shaping a future that is inclusive, innovative, and responsive. Our vision sets the stage for an imagined future where teams work seamlessly together, where experimentation and creativity are valued, and where people are linked by a shared purpose to respond to future challenges.
Our Values
Learning. Community. Impact. These values guide our daily work and are centered around you, our loyal and valued members who continue to believe in SCUP. Integrated planning isn’t possible without your continued commitment to learn from one another, expand the community, and make an impact in higher education. We’re here to deliver the critical resources and opportunities that you need to support these commitments to our discipline.
Together, we can achieve all of this, by focusing strategic efforts on the following 4 goals.
SCUP will:- Drive the expansion and adoption of integrated planning in higher education.
- Operate as a learning-centric organization.
- Design and integrate research, content, and learning opportunities for growth and development.
- Model the value of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
We’re set to expand our research, create new learning opportunities, be a conduit for relationship building, and develop resources for advancing institutional resilience through the integrated planning approach. Our success depends on YOU, an engaged community willing to learn together and from one another.
At our core, SCUP believes in the transformative power of learning and human connection. We believe campuses can become models of equity, sustainability, and social impact. And we believe the passion of our community will lead the way.
We’re just getting started! Let’s work together to shape the future of higher education.
