I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. recognize descriptions of people, objects, things and places (color, shape,
size, height, weight, length, distance, etc.);
b. appreciate each other’s differences; and
c. match appropriate descriptive words to pictures.

III. Procedure:
A. Preparatory Activities
A. Motivation:
At first, the teacher will show a picture of people, objects, things or places
and then, she will ask the students to describe the given pictures one by
one.
B. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation
a. Setting of Standards:
The teacher will set classroom rules for students to follow
during the class.
2. Activity:
The teacher will read a short story entitled “Pretty Faye”.
After, the teacher will ask the students to remember the
descriptions of the main characters in the story.
Faye is pretty, but she is too timid. She doesn’t want to go out of the house and
she just stays inside her room. She really thinks she is ugly because her parents
are good-looking that made her insecure than ever.
One day, while looking at her reflection in the mirror and said “Oh, why do I look
so dull? My face is round, my ears are quite long and even my teeth are uneven.
Why can’t I be as pretty as my mother? Mira, the mirror, answered her “Stop
murmuring and whining, pretty Faye. There’s nothing wrong about your face.
Your face is one of the prettiest faces I have ever seen. You should go out and
be with your friends.” But Faye still refuses to go out. Mira then show Faye the
different images of children. Some children looked healthy, while others were
pale and underweight. Others were so attractive, while others were just normal
and simple. Some children were dark, others were fair. They were all happy and
were getting along so well as they were all playing and did not mind how each
other looked. After that, Mira showed Faye her parents as they were sadly talking
about their concerns of her and how much they love her to go outside. Pretty
Faye was touched and hug her parents. From then on, Faye learn that there is
nothing wrong about her looks and she accepts herself as she is.
3. Analysis:
The teacher will ask the students to describe the main character of the story and
to describe the images of different children in the mirror. After, the teacher will
give more emphasis about the topic which is the Descriptive Adjective.

Descriptive Adjectives specifies the shape, size, or color of the
noun they modify. Descriptive Adjectives are often called common
adjectives as they describe a noun in a general way.
Examples of common adjectives include: soft, red, sunny, wet

adjective describes the subject of a sentence.
Example:
The plants are green. Plants is the subject, are is the linking verb,
and green is the adjective.

C. Concluding Activities
1. Abstraction:
The teacher will ask some questions to review the topic being discussed and ask
the students to give examples of the different kinds of sentence.

Answer the Activity 1 in page 7 from your English book.
A. Motivation:
At first, the teacher will show different pictures and then, she will
ask her students what do the pictures were all about. She will also ask
them about how they feel about the pictures being shown and encourage
them to make sentences about it. After that, the teacher will provide an
activity. She will group the class into four groups and each group will be
given a specific picture on which they will formulate sentences and create
a scenario out the picture. The group who has the most interesting result
will get a prize.
B. Discussion:
Kinds of Sentences According to Function
A declarative sentence makes a statement or expresses an opinion. Use a
period at the end of a declarative sentence.
Examples:
Andy Murray has a great will to win.
The commentator laughed at his own mistake.
An interrogative sentence asks a question and ends with a question mark.
Examples:
Are you using the saw today, Mitch?
May the other people come along with us?
An exclamatory sentence expresses strong feeling and ends with an
exclamation mark.
Examples:
This is just the way to do it!
That is great news!
An imperative sentence gives a command (strong emotion) or makes a
request (mild emotion). Use an exclamation after the imperative sentence
that contains a strong emotion, and a period after one that contains a mild
emotion.
Example:
Stop that foolish talk now!

C. Generalization:
The teacher will ask the students to give examples of the different
kinds of sentence.
D. Application:
Write down the type of each sentence. There are no end punctuation on
these sentences because that may give you the answer. Decide by the
function of the sentence and mark down the end punctuation.
