Communication reflection

I acknowledge that I excel in listening when it comes to communications. In conversations I

tend to be the listener because all you need to be a good listener is a quiet mouth and a
quick wit. Another strength I have in communications is hand movements and body
language, my body language tells people what my voice does not. Somethings that
challenge me when I communicate with others is when I have nothing to
say. You can only listen for so long and with only one person talking its not much of a
conversation. Another challenge I have is over analysing body language, often thinking too
deeply about it and getting the wrong idea. Characteristics I notice and appreciate in others
Is clear body language and a nice clear voice. Other big things I recognize are respect and
empathy if you cannot respect or empathize with your conversation partner than I believe it
will not be a good conversation. Some characteristics I do not appreciate are the inability to
focus, it is the most annoying when your trying to talk to someone, but they don’t seem to
listen. Another characteristic I do not appreciate is constantly interrupting my train of
thought when I talk, this is a big conversation killer because without a train of thought I
have nothing to say. How so? My relation ship with tech and communication is great. I
communicate better online unless it is texting which I am utterly hopeless at.
Communication online is way different than normal communication because of the
nonverbal cues that are nonexistent in chat through tech. Overall chatting through
technology I find to be much more straight forward and easy compared to normal
communication but les interactive. When technology isn’t helping me communicate it is
hindering me, distracting me with tons of good shows to watch.
