In honour of the 200th anniversary of the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) and the institution’s exceptional work, the charity is being celebrated on a UK 50p coin. 

You can strike your very own Brilliant Uncirculated edition of the coin exclusively at The Royal Mint Experience. Strike Your Own Coin (s) are available to purchase at the check-in desk.

Step into the snowy world of The Gruffalo’s Child! In celebration of the twentieth anniversary of this timeless tale, you will be able to strike your own Gruffalo’s Child 2024 UK Coin at The Royal Mint Experience.  

The opportunity to strike your own Gruffalo’s Child 2024 UK Coin is accessible for a limited time only and exclusively available on a tour of The Royal Mint Experience. If you would like to strike a coin during your tour, ask your welcome host upon your arrival.

The combination of enthralling history, interesting facts and fun activities has made us a destination for tourists of all ages and helped us to build a reputation as one of the most worthwhile places to visit in South Wales. Ensuring The Royal Mint Experience lives up to its name, every visitor has the opportunity to strike their very own coin as part of the tour, providing each guest with something truly unique to take home at the end of their visit. While the design of the coin may change depending on what theme we are celebrating at the time of your visit, striking your own coin is an experience that’s truly one of a kind.

Visitor notice

Available to purchase at check-in for £7.50 per coin, this experience is limited to one coin strike per person, and the option to purchase two additional pre-struck coins. Tours are limited to one per person per day.
