Phillip Maciak The New Republic While the show giddily draws on the histories of Mormonism and Scientology in crafting this founder’s narrative, there’s originality in the writing, including a particularly memorable new story about the harms of self-pleasure in the great outdoors. Jan 31, 2025 Full Review Ben Dowell Times (UK) The vibe — and vibes are key to this show — continues to be as queasy and airless as the worst office experience. You feel submerged, as if you can almost smell the nylon and morning breath. Rated: 5/5 Jan 27, 2025 Full Review Noah Berlatsky Chicago Reader The second season is excellent television. Season one, though, was more than that—at least half the time. Jan 23, 2025 Full Review Tessa Smith Mama's Geeky Brilliant writing. Brilliant acting. Brilliant storytelling. Everything that happens in season 2 culminates into an epic finale that will have viewers on the edge of their seats with their hearts pounding. Jan 31, 2025 Full Review Abby Monteil them. ... If you’re willing to linger in the moment-to-moment corners of Severance’s delightfully weird world, there’s no better show to clock into right now. Jan 30, 2025 Full Review Andrew Murray The Upcoming Severance’s second season expands upon what came before in meaningful ways as it takes viewers further down its twisted rabbit hole. A Z It comes across as pretentious. As if it shouldn't have to try to be interesting or comprehensible. It feels like the actors are just delivering their lines in each scene too and don't really know what the big picture is either. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/25 Full Review William P This show has such a great premise, and it started out OK but I was sure at the beginning of the second season they would try to explain some of the mysteries. And they decided not to, and to just add some more. They need to tell us why a severed employee is better for them, or necessary for the work they do. They've only implied why anyone would care to live life like that. And where do they get the idea that this guy was depressed about his wife's death but maybe she's not dead? Wha? And then there's the pacing. Hallways It seems like a huge part of each episode is someone walking down hallways. It's just so slow. I just don't get it, And I don't know if I'll make it through this season if they keep this up. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/01/25 Full Review Chris D LOL at the dingleberries who expect the entire plot to be revealed after the first few episodes or who think its too slow and are too impatient to watch the story unfold. Go watch tik tok reels, it will suit your attention span better. If you liked season 1, and are not a complete dingleberry, then you will surely enjoy the beginning of season 2. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/25 Full Review Kelly F Season 1 was great and it left you wanting more but season 2 did not keep the same energy. Just weird and boring. I am sure it won’t get interesting again until the second to last episode like they usually do with season 2’s Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/25 Full Review John M I loved the first season of Severance. But season 2 is so boring that is unwatchable, I stopped watching it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/25 Full Review Arya S Excruciatingly slow. Three episodes into the second season and there has been little development or enlightenment, with vagueness and great spaces in between lines of dialogue being interpreted as depth by fans. The grey and white color palette is becoming boring, and who cares about the goats. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/01/25 Full Review Read all reviews
