Verne Gay Newsday Fine import with not just one, but three emotional payoffs. Rated: 3.5/4 May 22, 2024 Full Review Peter Travers ABC News This Netflix series phenom that no one can stop talking about stars an astonishing Richard Gadd as a Scottish comic who shapes his life as the victim of a stalker (a dynamite Jessica Gunning) into a twisted spellbinder that deserves serious Emmy love. May 17, 2024 Full Review Graeme Blundell The Australian Gunning is simply a revelation, capable of eliciting sorrow and pity one moment and then terror the next. May 10, 2024 Full Review Lyra Hale Fangirlish ...while it was utterly disturbing in so many ways, it honored the fact that the human experience is complicated. Rated: B Jul 5, 2024 Full Review Ernesto Diezmartinez Letras Libres Created, written and starring Scottish comedian Richard Gadd, this extraordinary miniseries is more uncomfortable than funny, but in its story of a personal horror it finds room for empathy and humanity. sahar a I have finally found out how the poison spreads out! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/16/24 Full Review Audience Member Ok, enough good acting and gripping story telling to keep you interested. Not a true story like claimed, but worth a watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/16/24 Full Review B O This show was absolutely insane, I can’t even put into words how it felt watching it. I was on the edge of my seat, I felt every emotion a human can feel. I feel bad for Richard but I also feel bad for Martha, they’re both truly messed up individuals who happened to meet and become addicted to each other like a drug. He hated her but loved the attention and the feeling of being seen and she loved him but he just kept pushing her away and then pulling her back in. This is one hell of a true story and it feels like it was made for TV. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/13/24 Full Review A A God almighty, this show was terrible. I couldn’t even finish it. One horrible decision after another make it very difficult to feel any kind of sympathy towards Donny. It was just too much. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/11/24 Full Review Kensi B Unique take on the stalker story though it does get a bit repetitive at times. What makes this worth watching is Richard Gadd's performance and the lengths to which he is willing to go to admit that he's human, a flawed human as we all are, who often make dumb decisions, and who even more often than that, don't even understand our own decisions. In this day of movies that are mostly about superheroes and extreme purity testing in the media and on social media that rivals that of the Victorian era, it is highly refreshing to see someone saying and doing things that aren't perfect- and that are mired in the complexity of being human. We're not asked to like this character or agree with him but to empathize and mostly we do. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/07/24 Full Review Salem K Glad I watched it, not the most pleasant viewing. Just be warned, it is very graphic at times and could be quite triggering for some people. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/06/24 Full Review Read all reviews
