Overall I enjoyed the movie. Loved Kevin Costner. But the movie was all over the place jumping from one thing to another. You couldn't get invested in any of the characters. It left me feeling confused and wanting more.

This started off slowly. There are so many characters and locations. It took awhile to get into the rhythm of this film. But once I started to understand how things were connected, this story is unique & compelling. The scenery is beautiful. The action is intense. It was enjoyable to see all the different kinds of people living & settling the West. Some good, some bad, some both, some neither. Nice to see a good western again.

Cons: needs a new soundtrack and a couple of edits/reshoots: introductory scenes could use some context, a few too many threads at times, and a couple of cheesy scenes Pros: beautiful, sweeping cinematography, great acting, interesting stories, hits hard like a Western should A couple of small changes, and this becomes a masterpiece. I can't wait for episode 2!
