Description

If you are looking for something novel, you might like to try a little tilt-shift photography. My two frame example uses the Kansas City Union Railroad Station as its center piece. Both THROBBE and blinkings have posted several examples of tilt-shift photography/post work in the last couple of days and inspired me to look into this. What is it? The end result should yield a photo that takes a full size scene and converts it to look like a scale model. THROBBE and blinkings have used different techniques. Here is a third technique: Click here for explanation Is there a practical use? Probably not...just a fun technique to experiment with... Thanks for looking. And many thanks for all your comments and favorites. You all are the best. Bill :-) Give it a zoom for best viewing.

This is so cool. I love the fountain - it looks like a CD in the "model" shot.

It does look like a model set out against a backdrop. Interesting.

Fun exploration of the tilt shift technique, or fake-model photography as I like to call it. I'll have to give this a go in IR. I appreciate all of your comments on recent images. Just uploaded a new one for ya!

How interesting! I suppose it could be useful if you just wanted to concentrate on your middle subject and mist out the rest of the view due to being of no interest? Thanks for sharing your wisdom Bill, I hadn't heard of this technique before, I am the lady who just takes random shots and hopes for the best lol, hugs Jane xx

Well, I see everything's up to date in Kansas City. I really like the effect here and the bottom shot does appear to be a scale model. The tilt-stift method looks like something I do with some of my filters, such as varifocus. Thankx for the method reference info.

Certainly interesting, mate. And yes, you probably right in saying there is no practical use for it. (Sends my head screwy, personally!) But, it is fun to look at, but I also DO prefer the top one!! Great uninterrupted view! Good shot! Rob.

Intresting..I find the Tilt Shift to look so clear at the Union Railroad Station that it almost looks like a minature..Cool effect!
