Research on Site Selection and Capacity Determination of Charging Facilities Based on Thermal Analysis Diagram of EV and Charging Pile

Published: 17 May 2021 Publication History

Abstract

As the state proposes to include "building charging piles and promoting new energy vehicles" in key areas of new infrastructure construction in 2020, local governments will vigorously promote the construction of electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities. In order to solve the problem of location and capacity of charging facilities, the cumulative thermal analysis diagram of EV and charging pile was drawn based on the location information data of Chongqing Monitoring Platform of New Energy Vehicles and Basic Charging Facilities, taking full account of the real-time activity range of EV and the distribution of charging facilities. The thermal analysis diagram of EV and charging piles can visually display the operation conditions of EV without charging piles and charging piles without EV. A certain area of Chongqing was selected as an actual case through the cumulative thermal analysis diagram. This paper proposed a planning plan for the number and type of charging facilities in the study area which combined with the actual data of real-time power of the charging station, EV battery capacity, active duration and SOC. It has certain practical guiding significance for site selection and capacity construction of charging facilities.
