Breaking down Chris Johnson's $8 million Jets deal, 2015 option
Newly-minted New York Jets running back Chris Johnson's contract is worth $8 million, including a $3 million signing bonus, according to a league source.
Johnson has a $500,000 option bonus for 2015 that has to be exercised on or before the 22nd day prior to the 2015 league year.
He has a $2.75 million salary-cap figure this year and a $1 million nonguaranteed base salary.
In 2015, Johnson has a $5.5 million salary-cap figure with a nonguaranteed $3.5 million base salary.
In 2015, there's up to a $1 million escalator clause.
