CU-dimensions: stereoscopic images generation using still images

Published: 11 December 2011 Publication History

Abstract

The creation of a single stereoscopic image is not trivial because it requires special hardware and software tools and familiarity in image editing software. In addition, there are many different types of stereoscopic viewing methods. Each of them requires a different type of stereoscopic glasses and viewers personal viewing skills. Due to its difficulty, the creation of stereoscopic images has become less popular compared to other image viewing techniques. This project presents a web application entitled CU Dimensions with the ability to generate stereoscopic images from typical digital photos. The user can create a stereoscopic image without familiarity with any images editing software tool. CU Dimensions also supports several types of stereoscopic viewing, supporting all sorts of instruments and techniques. Moreover, CU Dimensions also provides a function to publish the created images to several popular social networks.
